Lorenzo Rimini

Who?

Lorenzo Rimini is an Italian product designer based in Basel, specialising in design for aging and health. In this field, he has served as industrial designer for Bayartis and as a product design researcher at HGK Basel. In 2026, he developed an aging travel companion, for older adults, in collaboration with Tucano, where he previously worked as a product designer.

His work has been shown at Milan Design Week in 2025 and 2026 and at Kunsthaus Baselland during Art Basel 2025.

He holds a Master's degree in Industrial Design from HGK Basel, FHNW (2026), and a Bachelor's degree in Product Design from Politecnico di Milano (2023).

Values & Approach

Every project starts with people: research into context and users, observing how objects are really used and where they fall short, distilled into a clear direction that guides each decision.

Ideas are then tested hands-on, sketches, form studies, 3D-printed and physical prototypes - moving between digital tools and making, with close attention to materials, detailing and manufacturing

ITechnical constraints, cultural meaning and sustainability are parameters from the start. In aging and health this means products that support autonomy and are desirable in their own right: objects people choose to use, not ones they feel the need to hide.
